Tip 8 - Use Appliances Efficiently (washer and dryer)

Blog post by Olivia and Makenna S

Washing Machine
In your washing machine, set the appropriate water level for the size of the load, wash in cold water when possible.

Clothes Dryer
Clean the lint filter in the dryer after each use. Dry heavy and light fabrics separately and don't add wet items to a load that's already partly dry. Use the moisture sensor setting if you have one.  A clothesline is the most energy-efficient clothes dryer of all!  That may be a challenge for cold climates like Saskatchewan but it works great in the summer.

  1. we only use our dish washer when it's full but almost every 3 days it's full because you know sports and my dad's cycling clothes which are sweaty, stinky and gross. we really gotta wash those clothes because p.u. it's disgusting and well me and margali do dance which we sweat a lot in too but, maybe we could wear one t-shirt, pants and extra activity costume to lower it down because we used to even wash a pj everyday but, not anymore we now wash them every week.
